There are two major events each year that highlight Internet Safety, Safer Internet Day (Feb) and Internet Safety Month (June). Although these events highlight the need for Internet Safety, it is our responsibility EVERY DAY to provide protective factors for youth to safety use technology. Many years ago, we said “put the computer in a common room”. Today, our message is about a conversation. A conversation that highlights the good, and the not so good and dangerous aspects of technology use. We strongly urge all parents and guardians, educators, and child protection professionals to #StartTheConversation about technology safety.
